Ways to use the Dango Gripper

More than a
helmet mount.

Start with first-person riding footage, then move the camera when the story needs another angle. The Dango Gripper is designed to make changing perspective simple.

One mount. More angles.

Change the camera position without changing your whole setup.

Helmet POV is where many riders start, but it does not have to be where the camera stays.

The clamp design of the Dango Gripper lets you reposition your action camera between suitable mounting points, giving you more ways to capture the ride without relying on permanent adhesive mounts everywhere.

Motorcycle rider POV using the Dango Gripper action camera mount
01 — Rider POV

Start with POV.

Mount the camera on a suitable helmet chin bar for a natural first-person view. It puts the viewer close to what the rider sees without relying on a permanent adhesive mount.

02 — Bike mounted

Move it to the bike.

When helmet POV has told its part of the story, move the Gripper to a suitable secure part of the motorcycle for another viewpoint. The same camera can give you a completely different shot.

03 — Low angle

Get closer to the action.

A lower camera position changes the feeling of the shot completely. Get closer to wheels, terrain, dirt and water where a traditional helmet perspective cannot take you.

04 — Third person

Step outside the helmet.

Use a suitable secure trailside, trackside or environmental mounting point to get the rider into the frame. It gives your footage context and breaks up long sequences of first-person video.

Reposition. Shoot. Repeat.

One mount. Change the shot.

The point is not to find one perfect position and leave the camera there. The Gripper gives riders and creators the option to move the camera as the ride, location and story change.

Add portrait filming

Shoot vertical too.

Add the Dango L Bracket when you want to turn a compatible action camera 90° for portrait filming.

Its shape helps keep the camera positioned as centrally as possible to the original mounting point, rather than simply hanging the camera further off to one side.

Designed to complement the Dango Gripper, it gives creators another option for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and other vertical-first content.

Different angles from the same mount.

A few examples of how the Gripper can move between riding, motorcycle and off-bike filming positions.

Where can you use it?

Built for more than one kind of shot.

The best mounting position depends on the camera, bike, helmet and environment. Always choose a secure suitable surface and check the mount before filming or riding.

Beyond the ride

Keep filming when the bike stops.
